What's on this year
There will be parades in the main arena from our regular vehicle sections, including Steam Engines, Commercials, Military, Motorcycles, Tractors, Vintage & Classic Cars, along with a few surprises on the day. Also at the event will be an Olde Tyme Fair, Fair Organs, along with Trade and Charity Stalls, not forgetting Hot & Cold Refreshments.

J C BALLS & SONS DIGGER DANCE
JC Balls & Sons Digger Dance is an exciting team driven entertainment show exhibiting the flexibility and talent of JCB operators. The digger dance team follow a precise choreographed routine to music, and sees several daring moves, including balancing themachines on their sides, which will delight young budding Bob the Builder fans and old alike.
The team now consists of several members (men and women) driving various machinery and working behind the scenes to make this a spectacular show not to be missed. Most amazing is that the members and the machines are out doing normal work what JCB’s do every other day of the week!
National Falconry School
How much do you know about the ancient art of falconry?
The National Falconry School with James McKay will be performing in the arena on both days, they will be promoting the conservation of birds of prey and owls. They have a worthy reputation and have even supplied their owls for the Harry Potter films! Visitors will be able to see wide range of tame raptors up close during the demonstrations, which evoke a feeling of tradition, excitement, splendour and pageantry. In addition to the demonstrations,will be a static display of birds, along with an educational display.
Derwent Valley Gun Dogs
Scurries by the Derwent Valley Gun Dog Display Team will be taking place in the main arena on both days. The demonstrations show how dogs are used to find and flush out live game and then to retrieve it. These shows are put on in order to raise money for thelocal Air Ambulance, so please support this worthy cause.
The Heritage Working Area
The heritage working area will display a variety of farming and agricultural machinery of days gone by. They will include a threshing drum with baler and horses and carts with farming implements such as horse drawn seeders. Also in the working area will be:
Great Oak Forge blacksmith, Ben Cooper, who will be demonstrating over the weekend. He specialises in hand made iron household items. His work is functional, unique and will add character to any house. He will be joined by the Erewash Woodturners Association who will also be demonstrating the art of woodturning as well as The Derbyshire Poacher, who is a small 1940’s home front re-enactor. He along with some land girls will be showing how to create poaching nets and bow saw making, all complete with their very own anderson hut.
Ye Olde Busynesse of Ferrets
Ye Olde Busynesse of Ferrets are professional Polecat tamers and will be providing a highly entertaining show over the weekend packed full of fun, frolics and fast-paced racing. Help the kids to cheer on their favourite furry friend as they scurry along the race track!
Battle of Britain Memorial Flypast
We will have a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight on both days. We are excited to announce that the Spitfire will be gracing our skies on the Saturday and the legendary Lancaster Bomber will be on the Sunday. CHESTERS SHOWTIME
Chester Mazing the Magical Clown will be entertaining the kids with his balloon modelling and fun games. Youngsters visiting the show will find plenty to see and do with attractions such as the Old Tyme Fair with rides including: Cake Walk, Mini Waltzer, Supercar Racers and Sea on Land. For the smaller children there will also be Donkey Rides by Brandside Donkeys.
The Vintage Vocalist
For the last couple of years The Vintage Vocalist - Paula Marie has brought the music of the 1940s to life! This year, Paula will be performing songs from the glamorous 50s and swinging 60s.
Join her on a sentimental journey back to the golden age of song! Singing the hits ofElla Fitzgerald, Judy Garland, Billie Holiday, Connie Francis, Bobby Darin and many more, she’s sure to add a touch of sparkle and vintage charm to the occasion.
